How pay works
Short version: you are paid per job, the amount comes out of that job price, and you see it before you decide whether to take the job.
You are paid per completed job, not per hour worked
Every job is booked for a set number of hours at a price the customer agreed upfront. Your payment for that job comes out of that price, less the Ultra Task platform fee. There is no timesheet.
The amount depends on the job
A longer job pays more than a shorter one, and a job the customer booked as a regular repeat is priced differently from a one-off. That is why there is no single figure on this page: quoting one would mean quoting the wrong one for most jobs.
You see the amount before you apply
Each open job shows what you would be paid for that specific job, worked out from that job's own price. You decide whether it is worth your time before you commit to anything.
The platform fee is the difference
Ultra Task keeps a percentage of each job's price. That covers finding the customer, taking the booking and the payment, handling the admin and carrying the chargeback risk. It comes out of the job price and is never invoiced to you separately.
Payment timing
Payment is released to your nominated bank account after the job is marked complete, per job. It does not wait for a fortnightly pay run.
Why there is no rate on this page. We could put an average here, but an average is wrong for almost every individual job - a two-hour one-off and a weekly four-hour regular are not the same work and are not priced the same. Quoting a number you then do not receive is worse than quoting none. The number that matters is the one on the job in front of you, and that one is always shown before you apply.
You are running your own business
Ultra Taskers are independent contractors, not employees. You invoice through the platform against your own ABN, you set your own availability, and you decline anything you do not want. That also means tax and superannuation are yours to handle - talk to an accountant if that is new to you.
